Morrivar
Character Sheet
Overview
Morton Dreadmoore was the eldest son of House Dreadmoore of Gilneas, a warlock trained in the family’s vitality-draining, pox-giving magic, demonic bindings, and older quiet rites. He was raised as the old Baron Dreadmoore’s heir, but that inheritance was a lie: the Baron had prolonged his own life for generations through stolen Morrivar magic and the sacrifice of eldest heirs. Morton died in 18 ADP in a Morrivar crypt in the Kingdom of Lordaeron after trying to coopt the Baron’s continuance rite for himself, unaware that Aidan had already sabotaged the same curse.
Morton later rose as Forsaken in Tirisfal with no memory except the name Morrivar, which he took as his own and kept even after learning his true identity. His imp knew who he had been, but the restored binding made the demon a resentful servant rather than a helpful witness. After returning to the Dreadmoore Estate inside the Greymane Wall, Morton helped defend Gilneas against the Forsaken, but his visible undead presence helped condemn the already distrusted family. After a later death, he was found in Revendreth during the War Against the Jailer and returned again afterward, worsening Aidan’s resentment. Morrivar became not merely a mistaken name, but Morton’s occult identity.
