Overview
Merrix is the Councilward of Dornogal and leader of its ruling council. His foremost duty is the protection of the earthen, and he administers the city by allocating work and resources while directing the Peacekeepers and Ordinants.
He also maintains the alternate identity of Steelvein, Dornogal’s notorious smuggler. Merrix created the persona after the division between the Oathsworn and Unbound, using it to bend the Edicts where necessary and move goods to earthen in need without openly violating the obligations of his office. Steelvein is therefore Merrix’s clandestine face, not a separate person.

Merrix’s Steelvein identity is the underworld rival of Oridius. Their conflict belongs to Dornogal’s criminal and commercial sphere, while Merrix’s public role remains that of the Councilward.
