Overview
The Battle of the Bridge takes place during the elven counteroffensive, shortly before the March on Quel’Danas. Praedys attempts to repeat the diversion that served him at Voidspire, drawing Aestian, Caldyris, and Lynara away from the larger battle. This time the three expect it and defeat him together.
Lynara restrains Praedys with holy chains, Aestian reinforces them with Light, and Caldyris stabilizes the prison with controlled Void. Aestian then prepares to execute the fallen priest. Lynara intervenes because the combined restraint has finally made Praedys reachable. She enters his consciousness, holds open a path through the internal Voidstorm, and makes clear that he must choose to return himself.
Outside, the active battle forces Aestian and Caldyris to decide how long they can wait. Both eventually prepare to breach Lynara’s barrier and end the threat. At the same moment, Praedys chooses to resist the Void. He and Lynara return to physical awareness together, exhausted but alive. Praedys is immediately taken into custody rather than restored to active service.
