Overview
Maldyn is a Forsaken Assassination Rogue and an Undercity Deathstalker. Deathstalker work is central to his identity. He is cold, practical, thoroughly professional, and exceptionally good at work that calls for stealth, poison, and decisive close violence. He genuinely enjoys doing it.
Forsaken Life
Maldyn does not expend meaningful energy on political philosophy, governmental legitimacy, ideological loyalty, or moral reflection about the Forsaken leadership. During Sylvanas Windrunner’s rule, Sylvanas supplied his assignments and he carried them out. That made him useful for ugly and effective Deathstalker operations during the Fourth War without requiring that he share her larger political aims.
When the Desolate Council replaces Sylvanas as Forsaken leadership, Maldyn experiences no corresponding ideological conversion. He remains a Forsaken Deathstalker with work to do. The Council can direct him toward targets it actually wants removed, and he will do that work as effectively as he performed Sylvanas’s orders. His survival after the Fourth War rests on the same practical calculation: the Forsaken understand what he is, and destroying a highly capable Deathstalker is wasteful when he can be retargeted.
