Risen

Overview

Risen is used in this vault as the broad category for corporeal, humanoid undead who are not better described by a more specific undead type such as Darkfallen, Ghoul, Zombie, Lich, or Abomination.

In Warcraft canon, “the Risen” can also refer to specific undead forces, especially Balnazzar’s undead Scarlet Crusaders in Stratholme. For vault taxonomy, this note uses the term more generally for player-style or person-like raised undead, regardless of whether they are Scourge, Forsaken, free, dominated, or unaffiliated.

Usage

Use this for undead who are raised into a recognizable humanoid body and do not belong to a more precise undead body category. Do not use it for death knights, dark rangers, or San’layn.
