Overview
Saerina is a recently initiated Witch Elf of the Cult of Khaine, selected for Caldyris’s elite squad during the invasion of Ulthuan. She is exceptionally lethal even among the Brides of Khaine. Though early in her career, she brings experience gained in real missions and fighting under the supervision of older Witch Elves.
Personality and Faith
Saerina’s devotion is visceral. She experiences the ecstasy of violence as worship, and the sacred character of bloodshed consumes her with a fervour both predatory and deeply personal. She is already committed to Khaine with the certainty of a devotee whose faith has been tested in combat.
Her frenzy belongs chiefly to the way she kills and worships. Beyond it she remains capable of thought, discipline, and coherent religious conviction. Her lack of long campaigning experience is the limitation of a young career, not a measure of her lethality.
History
Training and Initiation
Saerina fought on supervised missions before completing her initiation. Those operations gave her practical experience under more seasoned Witch Elves and an opportunity to demonstrate the exceptional violence of which she was capable.
Her recent full initiation is followed by selection for Caldyris’s squad, a prestigious assignment within the invasion effort associated with the Nemesis. The Ulthuan campaign is likely her first major undertaking outside the degree of supervision she knew during training. Her Khainite superiors order her to support Caldyris’s mission, and she serves under his tactical command while retaining her religious obligations.
Family
Saerina is one of four biological sisters who share a Khainite vocation. Her two elder sisters are fully initiated Witch Elves; the youngest is still training. Their shared faith gives family attachment a place within the life of the cult, rather than requiring it to exist apart from her calling.
Whatever affection she holds for her sisters remains subject to Khaine and legitimate religious authority. Kinship does not supersede the obedience she owes her god.
Relationships
Praedys shares her absolute devotion, though he approaches it through controlled ritual, sacred knowledge, and deliberate bloodshed. Saerina’s more ecstatic worship can bring her into fierce disagreement with him over divine will, favour, sacrifice, and the expression of faith. Each recognizes the other’s devotion as legitimate, making the conflict one between believers with substantial common ground.
Their arguments can be vicious. Insults, threats, humiliation, resentment, and physical fights may accompany their disputes, and either can be calculatingly cruel. Saerina’s fervour does not make Praedys the sole possessor of reason; both bring their own convictions to the quarrel. Nor does conflict prevent them from returning to wholehearted cooperation in worship and war.
The shared exaltation of especially intense combat sometimes leads to sexual intimacy. Their encounters are carnal expressions of a common religious experience, without romance or personal tenderness. They are not lovers and will never become so. There is no exclusive partnership, and intimacy neither reconciles their theology nor softens the relationship.
Saerina would immediately obey a legitimate order from her religious superiors to kill or sacrifice Praedys. She would see no betrayal in fulfilling such a command. Their common devotion is absolute; their personal bond gives neither authority to stand above it.
Appearance and Equipment
Saerina wields paired elongated blades with hooked profiles. She fights in minimal red and dark-purple clothing, with distinctive armored bracers, boots, and ornamentation.
