Overview
Wrathion, the Black Prince, is a black dragon whose campaigns against corruption and existential threats repeatedly place him among Azeroth’s most useful and least trustworthy allies.
Role in the Lore
Wrathion chooses Redyn as his Ravenholdt operative during the Fangs of the Father campaign. After Wrathion provokes Fahrad’s corruption into the open and withholds the full context, Redyn kills Fahrad and resolves never again to trust Wrathion plainly.
In Pandaria, Wrathion’s program creates the Celestial Artifacts for a small set of Alliance and Horde champions. His later anger at Varian’s mercy toward the Horde, followed by his role in enabling Garrosh’s escape, confirms Redyn’s judgment that Wrathion identifies real dangers but manipulates others into serving his preferred solution.
