Overview

Redyn Perenolde is an Alteraci rogue, concealed worgen, Ravenholdt assassin, SI:7 attached specialist, and the last known living member of the Perenolde bloodline. Born around 5 ADP into a minor offshoot of House Perenolde, he is genuinely of the house but holds only a remote place in Alterac’s succession. He never knew a functioning Alterac; the nationalism and inheritance attached to his blood were taught to him by others.

Peregrine

The Syndicate discovered Redyn as an infant, murdered his non-Syndicate parents when they refused cooperation, and took him before he could remember them. They raised him as a political instrument, conditioning him from childhood into an elite assassin and teaching him that the northern human lands had betrayed Alterac, that Lordaeron and the other human kingdoms rightfully belonged to him, and that Alterac’s restoration was inevitable. Within the Syndicate, he was primarily Peregrine: an imposed operational codename for the weapon and claimant they manufactured. Their ambition was sincere, but they intended to possess a Perenolde who legitimized their restoration rather than rule freely.

Ravenholdt and SI:7

Cracks in that conditioning begin around 23 ADP. By the following year, Redyn has uncovered both the remoteness of his claim and the fact that the Syndicate murdered his parents and stole him as a baby. He defects to Ravenholdt, which already opposes the Syndicate and can use his intimate knowledge of its leadership, safehouses, methods, and habits.

Redyn tells Fahrad directly that he is Redyn Perenolde and that he was the Syndicate asset called Peregrine. Fahrad brings the truth to Lord Jorach Ravenholdt, and the two remain the only Ravenholdt figures initially entrusted with it. To everyone else, he is Redyn Brown: a highly capable young Alteraci Syndicate defector. Defectors are rare enough that his skill, intensity, knowledge, and drive against the Syndicate explain the attention he receives from Ravenholdt’s senior figures without revealing a dynastic secret. The Brown identity protects him from recovery, assassination, political exploitation, and treatment as another asset.

Through Ravenholdt, he later becomes a trusted Alliance operative and attached specialist for SI:7, retaining broad freedom because he was never a conventional Stormwind-trained agent.

Jarcey and the Worgen Curse

During the Gilneas and Silverpine fighting, Redyn accepted the worgen curse under desperate battlefield conditions and kept the truth extremely private. Jarcey became one of the earliest people to know and one of the few whose judgment Redyn treats as nearly final in the field. Their partnership is not sentimental in expression, but it is one of the central loyalties of Redyn’s life: infiltration, assassination, sabotage, overwatch, traps, engineering, and demolition work become far more dangerous when the two operate together.

Fahrad and Lord Jorach Ravenholdt also keep Redyn’s condition in confidence. Within Ravenholdt, no wider disclosure follows from his service or from his earlier identity as Peregrine.

Tinks

Redyn first encountered Tinks during Tinks’s early involvement with Ravenholdt. Tinks knew only Redyn Brown, the severe young Syndicate defector. Their first meeting was minor and neither man thought much of the other: Tinks found Redyn dour and too controlled, while Redyn found Tinks brash, peppy, and improvisational. It was not a rivalry. Any later trust or professional respect must be earned across the years that follow.

Pandaria

In Pandaria, Redyn and Jarcey serve with the Alliance expedition, especially in the fighting that follows its arrival. Redyn’s work centers on SI:7 intelligence, reconnaissance, infiltration, and sabotage, while Jarcey provides overwatch, traps, engineering, and support for Alliance troops. Their work keeps them close to the expedition even as other allies are drawn into Pandaria’s older dangers.
