Canon Overview
Xal’atath is an ancient and malevolent being of the Void who once remained imprisoned within the Blade of the Black Empire. In the modern age, she acts as the Harbinger of the Void and seeks to claim Azeroth’s world-soul.
Role in the Lore
In this continuity, Xal’atath kills Drenden and impersonates him on Dalaran’s Council of Six before the destruction of the city. Her infiltration and the fall that follows convince Rhox that the Council has failed beyond repair.
