Dracthyr

Overview

Dracthyr are draconic soldiers created by Neltharion using the powers of the dragonflights. They can wield the essences of all five dragonflights, though individual dracthyr may show a stronger affinity for one essence, scale, or flight tradition.

Most surviving dracthyr were confined in the Forbidden Reach creches after the Oathbinder was destroyed and remained in stasis until the Dragonflight awakening. Individual generations therefore matter: Vandryk is first-generation and had nearly the full pre-stasis career available to the earliest dracthyr, Vathor and Zayla are early-generation dracthyr with substantial pre-containment service, and Trishale is late-created with almost no meaningful experience before stasis.

Vathor and Infinis are exceptional because both versions escaped creche confinement in their respective temporal branches and lived through the intervening nearly twenty thousand years.
