Canon Overview
The Zandalari Empire is the ancient troll empire centered on Zandalar and ruled in the modern era by King Rastakhan and later Queen Talanji. Its monarchy is sacral: the crown, the loa, religious tradition, imperial identity, and political authority are elements of one religious-political order rather than separate secular and spiritual spheres. The loa collectively participate in the legitimacy, prosperity, and divine ordering of Zandalar. Rezan was the historic principal patron of the royal family, while Bwonsamdi becomes Talanji’s principal royal patron after Rezan’s death; that change alters the dynasty’s divine relationship without ending the sacred legitimacy of the crown.
